Senate Abolition of CPD Law Not True

Republic Act 10912 or the CPD Act authored by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV requires professionals to earn CPD units by taking additional formal and non-formal training for the renewal of their Professional Identification Card every three years. It took effect on July 1, 2017.

It is not true that the Senate Bill to Abolish CPD Law is Approved in the Senate.  The truth is, it is still pending and still has to pass through the deliberation, including the counterpart measure in the House of the Representatives before it could amend the existing law.

However, Recto raised the need to repeal the law, thus, the filling of Senate Bill No. 2073

The post made by 911 Philippines Supporters FB page which claims that the said CPD law has already been approved in the Senate has been shared more than 50,000 since the post was made on October 16, 2018.
