OFW Asks Help To Inform Her Family That They Can’t Contact Her Because Her Employer Confiscates Her Phone

An OFW kindly asks for help to inform her family that she doesn’t have any means of contact because her employer confiscates her phone.

A concerned netizen, Marjhoerry Manalo, posted a situation of a fellow Overseas Filipino worker whom she met at the mall in Abu Dhabi, Deerfields mall. According to Manalo, the OFW approached her and asked for help to contact her son, Siejo Soco (Facebook account name) in the Philippines and inform him that she has no means of contact, mobile phone, because it was confiscated by her employer.

Moreover, the OFW told Manalo that she hasn’t seen nor touch her salary. She has no idea either if it is being sent to her son in the Philippines because her employer hasn’t shown her receipt as proof.

To the relatives of the OFW, she asks that you contact the person who recruited her in the Philippines and asked that person to talk with the agent in UAE so that they can take action concerning her situation.

Not abused

One Facebook Netizen who seems to know the OFW and the family commented to the post and asked if the OFW is being maltreated by her employer. She said that there’s no problem with her salary as it is monthly sent to her son.

And Manalo answered that the time she talked to the OFW, the latter said that she’s not being abused by her employer.
