Vito Halasan, a Filipino janitor working at Surrey, British Columbia, won a staggering $7 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot or around 200 million in Pesos.
Although, now a millionaire, Halasan has no intention to quit his job. Instead, he will just scale down his working hours.
Halasan moved to Canada so he could give a life they have dreamed since they moved to Canada from the Philippines in 2009.
“I buy lottery tickets so I can dream,” Halasan said in the BCLC press release. “I dream of being able to take care of my kids and make their future better. Now we’ll be able to buy a nice house for my children and grandchildren.”
“I remember scanning my ticket and seeing all these numbers,” the happy janitor said in a BCLC release.
“I have really blurry vision so I had to hold the ticket right up to my face. I couldn’t believe it.”
Halasan called his daughter in a panic after realizing his big win.
“He sat me down at the table,” stated the woman, who is not named in the BCLC release. “And then he whispered really quietly to me that he won $7 million dollars. I didn’t believe him. We had to check online several times.”
According to BCLC press release, Halasan Lotto ticket matched all six numbers in the draw made on April 27, 2019, few days after celebrating his 58th birthday.
What a lucky guy!
