Child Seeks Help To Locate Her Missing OFW Father

A child of an Overseas Filipino worker in Saudi Arabia, went viral on Facebook for her plea in locating her missing father.

According to Niña Mae, the last contact they have with her father whose working under Saud Almane Transport company in Saudi Arabia was on November 5, 2019. After that, they have not received any news from their father. Niña added, that they’ve been told by the co-workers of her father that they saw him went outside their barracks and seem like he’s not on his right mind when they saw him.

Five days passed when one of her father’s co-workers saw him roaming in the street. However, the co-worker did not approach or help her father as only those who share the same nationality can only help their kababayan and he’s a Nepali.

On December 1, one of the co-workers of her father called Niña’s mother to inform them that his father had killed fellow Filipino on November 5 and is now in the custody of Saudi police. They have already asked help from a distress Overseas Filipino advocate, Ka Bong, for help. But they are still working on the details of what really happened to Niña’s father, Ruben Sanchez.

Niña together with the eight members of her family lives in the relocation sight in Cebu City. They are one of the fire victims in Guizo Mantuyong Mandaue City, Cebu, last March 12, 2016. It has been four years since they live in the evacuation site and they have not been relocated up to this time.

It is clear in the video that their current situation is not easy. It also shows that they can’t provide whatever financial aspects needed to help his father out of his present state. Whatever is the root cause of his father’s murder case, we hope that the family will be fully assisted in their effort to help their family abroad.
